Ascending Mount "Babies R' Us"

Never in my wildest imagination (and my imagination is pretty wild) did I ever fathom what all this stuff would amount to. After last weekend's shower festivities, our house is erupting with all sorts of newborn paraphernalia, the likes of which I have never seen before.

When Sara and I attended our birthing class, we took part in some very informative and entertaining exercises. All of them fun, but there was one in particular that stood out among the rest. The class was given ~60 cards, each with a picture of an item for the baby from “Aspirators” to “Zoo-mobiles”. The premise was to roll the die and remove items from the stack of cards that you determined to be things you could live without for the first 48 hours. I have to say that it was interesting watching as the items were discarded and seeing the remaining one or two bits. Bottom line, babies don't really need much, so how did we get all this stuff? Don't get me wrong, I would not have it any other way, but it makes you think...

So, back to reality, we’ve got this mountain to go through, and many more like it. It could be that I am getting high from the altitude but it seems that at this rate, I should have registered for climbing gear... Hmm... does Babies R' Us carry that?
