So, for those who don't already know, Sara (wife of 3 years) and I are expecting our first child in about, according to the due date, 23 days from now. Of course, this is the stress time that I have sensibly decided that it would be smart to kick off a blog, but if I want to catalog from "the beginning", I have to start sometime. We're at the point where it's crunch time. We've got enough together to be able to be sensibly prepared, but not enough to feel completely secure at this point. This next week is going to be, well, interesting. We spent a good amount of time creating the list of to-dos before the arrival... my stomach started to churn. I guess this is my morning sickness time... I think I am going to vomit.
You're never going to feel completely secure, you just have to be reasonably prepared and then jump in. Also, new people mostly just sleep and eat and poop, and as the person in the house least involved in the first two activities there will be plenty of time to get things done once she's home.
