And they came from the south!

My parents visited our place a week ago and I am just now recovering. Really, it should not have been that stressful but it just was. It's difficult to explain, but I'll put it this way. They both claim that they want to be out of our hair as to not be an imposition. They want no entertainment, no prepared meals or activities, barely even prepared rooms. It becomes such a "non-imposition" that the stress and discomfort of of the barren and neglected atmosphere fostered by the visit itself becomes an imposition.

As I like to say, good grief...

They are proud grandparents though... thanks for that!

  1. Charles, when I come to visit, I expect there to be a three course meal awaiting my arrival, and that your dog is groomed, the lawn is manicured, and that you put out a banner welcoming my arrival. But Charlotte, I'm sure that she can be spitting and burping and in need of a diaper change and she'd still look adorable. :)

  2. Then I may have to reconsider any sort of visitation unless the 3 course meal is from Taco Bell, we trade our pooch in for a Chinese Crested Hairless, we replace the grass with AstroTurf and you change your name to 512, our house numbers. Otherwise, it was nice knowing you...

PS. Ok, we could probably handle the banner...

  3. I agree with ACM. I prefer to be treated like royalty when visiting friends.
